A beautiful vintage piece of Wheeling Decorating china. This 22k gold embossed teapot has a gorgeous design of doves, roses and daisies. The entire outside body and lid are embossed with this dazzling pattern and it is nothing short of spectacular. Wheeling decorated pieces for many glass, porcelain and pottery companies and put out their own pieces which were blanks purchased from those same companies that they decorated and labeled. Many of the pieces look similar with their vibrant metallic gold color but the subtle differences are in the embossed patterns.
This teapot will hold 4 cups (filled right to the top). It stands 7" tall to the top of the lid and 5 1/4" to the top of the body. It has a span of 8" from handle to spout. This Wheeling Gold teapot is in Very Good+ condition for it's age which we believe is sometime around 1950. We see no chips, cracks, flakes or repairs. The gold metallic is in Fine condition 9 out of 10. Very minor wear seen (we rarely call anything vintage perfect).
We have not seen this exact teapot shape yet (with this loop on lid) but they decorated so many blanks. The bottom has their gold makers mark in diamond and a hand painted number in gold of 297. Also embossed on white bottom of teapot with the following 34 297/2 (see photo)
This will be a gorgeous piece for serving tea or display when not in use. It will look great with your Hollywood Regency, Glam decors and anywhere you want to add a some dazzling Gold accent. We have the matching creamer coming soon. Check our Coffee and Tea link below to see when we add it.
