A stunning example of a vintage Taxco Mexico Sterling Silver Thimble. This gorgeous thimble has applied silver work around the entire thimble. The raised design is beautiful against the patina.
The inside is fully marked; 925, the word STERLING, TAXCO and the number 3 inside the old eagle purity mark. It also has the initial EDH. (The last letter is a bit unclear but we think that's it). We have shown a photo of this, I apologize it is not better, but it was a tight space to photograph.
This vintage sterling silver thimble is in Very Good+ condition with no dings, dents or other physical wear to the body. We note patina seen in the ridges as you would expect from a silver piece this old, roughly 75-80 years or so. We did a light hand polishing, keeping some of the patina in the silverwork. If you wish it to be brighter, it will clean up nicely. We like the patina for depth and age.
This thimble does not have a size on it. It stands 31.5mm tall with a 12mm across opening at the base. Holding the base up to other thimbles we have with sizes, it looks like it could be a 6.
