Vintage Hand-Painted Porcelain tiles imported form Italy in the 1950s and sold by a local artisan in a small shop in Venice, Florida. I was very excited to find these. The tiles are gorgeous and glaze is incredible. See all of our photos for close up views.
When I first saw them, I immediately thought of Spanish Talavera pottery so I was not surprised that they were European. We can see these used on your Italianate style house, cottage or French Country style home and they will definitely go with any of your Spanish or Southwestern styles.
Each tile measures 6" X 4" and has a 1/2" depth. In this business we "get what we get" and we did not get every single number. A few options to offer you.... the 6's and 9's can be interchanged by flipping them upside down. The 7s could probably be turned into 1's or 2's if you know someone that is a bit artistic. Some cobalt blue paint and an overglaze will do the job. I could not pass them up they are beautifully painted, crafted and have age.
