This is an enormous roll of discontinued Pierre Deux Chinoiserie Style Fabric called "Les Mandarins". It was made in France and is in Excellent unused condition. We acquired from the estate of a retired interior designer. I unrolled and looked over every inch to measure, it is perfect and simply gorgeous. The pattern will lend itself to Chinoiserie and Asian styles of decor and of course, what the two Deux were known for, French Country.
Pierre Deux was started in 1967 by 2 Frenchman or the "Two Pierre's" as they were sometimes called. They started their first USA store in New York City and grew to 23 stores. They gathered much success bringing French Country style to the American home. They had 23 US stores in 2011 when they closed their doors. Their fabrics sold from $45 to $250 per yard on average. Their fabric has become highly collectible in the textile world.
We have 667" in length (55.59 feet long) by 60" wide (5 feet). This gives you 30.87 square yards which is a massive amount of fabric to work with. You can cover chairs, make pillows, curtains, tablecloth with napkins, so many ideas.
The colors are true in our photos with the background color being a "golden rod" or golden yellow and the other main colors are a beautiful lighter shade of blue, a burgundy red with pinkish highlights and a light green. There are other accent colors which can be seen in our last photo showing the color match blocks on the edge of the fabric.
This fabric came from a smoke and pet free home and is gorgeous. It is an extremely rare find and there is so much material you can easily make pillows, table linens, curtains, runners, or use for upholstery. So many options!
