This is a stunning piece of Italian Marquetry from Sorrento Italy (along Amalfi Coast trip) c1955. There are so many intricate details done in many different kinds of wood, we tried to take as many photos as possible for you to see the gorgeous details. I can only imagine the amount of time that went into this artwork.
It is in pristine condition with NO WEAR seen. The finish is original and all good. We give it a 9 out of 10 for condition. We rarely call anything vintage or antique perfect but this is about as nice as you will find for a 67 year old piece of marquetry.
This lovely wall decor will go well with Natural decors such as Boho Chic, coastal, and any decor with natural wood accents. We even like it with Danish Modern decors that show off nice rich wood trims.
This piece of marquetry measures 14 3/4" tall by 18" wide with about a 1/4" depth.
There is a hanger on the back for easy mounting or you can prop it up on an entry way table, server or dresser. So many different beautiful pieces of natural wood. Looking forward to finding this piece a new home to enjoy.
