Vintage bright gold tone trinket box in a book shape ornately decorated with a working thermometer. This little box is the perfect piece for a desktop or dresser and will hold small items nicely. The box has an ornate pattern on the front and raised glass bezel with thermometer. The condition is Good+ for its age which is sometime between 1950 - 1960. We see minimal and expected age wear in a few spots nothing major view all photos to see this box from every angle.
This little box would be perfect to hold small items like paper clips, loose change, jewelry etc. It is a unisex style and would make a great office gift for someone special.
The box measures 4" X 3 1/4" with a 1" depth when closed. There are no dings or dents in the metal. The thermometer is working and the glass bezel is perfect. We see some minor rubbing to gold at the front of the book (see photo 6). It is not dark looks like a scuff line. We did not try to remove because we did not want to risk damaging the gold finish. You could also use this as a gift box with something special inside.
