Blinding iridescent aurora borealis crystals on this magnificent vintage fringe necklace. This 1940s sparkler is crafted beautifully, better than most we have seen with ornate 10k spacers between the beads. It would make a lovely statement piece for the bride and it is a piece she could wear after the wedding. Depending on your neck size, will determine the length on the neck but this is a shorter necklace style with a 16" length which can be adjusted down to about 14".
The colors the crystals gives off is amazing. We see purple, blue, yellow, green and with an easy hook and eye closure it makes putting it on by yourself a breeze. This vintage necklace is in Very Good estate condition.
We did a little hand polishing to decorative findings and spacers, as not to remove all the patina. At first we thought it was silver or silver plate but a magnet did not stick and after safely testing we found the findings tested positive for 10k white gold. It's not that this amounts to a lot of gold, but it is the workmanship and quality of materials that sets this piece apart. The fringe pieces are individually strung on a loop finding so you will see a lot of movement which catches the light. The necklace measures 16" from end to end. Our model has it on the last bead and there is plenty of room to bring this up higher on her neck for a choker. Again, it will depend on your neck size. The hook is not gold just a silver tone metal.
