A vintage watercolor painting of an Asian landscape signed J. Drew. This unframed painting still has it's original matte board that shows some wear but the painting is exceptional and clean. It would wonderful in a darker matte like the gray background we show in the first photo. This watercolor painting is done in shades of blue, muted greens, browns and gray. We acquired this artwork along with several paintings pieces from an estate filled with Asian (mostly Chinese) furniture, art and collectibles - check back as we are adding piece daily.
The paper which the painting is painted on is embossed with what looks like the words FRANCE possible FRANGE (but that would not make sense unless it is some brand of paper). You can see it in our photos. The artist signature is vertical and very clear we are uncertain if the first initial is a stylized J. or T. I think it's a J... last name is definitely Drew. The painting is free of any damage, rips, stains or odors. Again only the matte shows wear and we did not want to remove it - we will leave it to the purchaser. The piece matted measures 20" X 16" and just the painting measures 15" X 11".
