A stunning set of NINE Victorian Era Chartreuse Green with Metallic Gold Trim High Hock Wine Glasses. This gorgeous set of antique stemware displays like a dream. You can see it on our display table in the last photo. We took pics from every angle so you can just how lovely these are. They can really make your table decor pop.
I searched for 3 days straight and had no luck finding the maker. From what I have gathered from the estate, these are Victorian or Late Victorian era. The color is gorgeous and true in our photos. The gold trim is bright and clean and present at the upper rim, at the top of the stem on a protruding circular ornamentation right above the stem and more gold trim around the base. These will be gorgeous on your table when it is set and make for a wonderful display in your china cabinet, cupboard, bar cart or server when not in use.
The condition is Very Good++. We see no chips, cracks, flakes or repairs. These are as clean and as nice as you will find for glasses that are over 100 years old. These High Hock style glasses were most popular in Germany and other parts of Europe, and I feel that is most likely where these originate from. I give them a 9 out 10 for antique condition (we call nothing perfect that is this old).
The stemware stands 7 1/4" tall and will hold 6 oz. The stems are gorgeous with a deep ribbed tapered column looking effect. The ornamentation piece that I keep describing right above the stem that is circular and trimmed in gold, is what I feel is key to finding the maker. I cannot find any stems with this large of an ornate decoration on this place above the stem. Many I have seen are smaller.
These will add a wonderful pop of color to your dining room table.
