A beautiful piece of estate sterling silver. This small pedestal bowl can be used to hold candy or other small treats or can be used as we have shown on a place setting.
The compote is in Very Good pre-owned condition. This piece is signed JWJ with a style number of 312. There are no import, export marks or duty marks. It tests positive and is guaranteed to be sterling silver. We were unable to find any info on the maker. Based on style and design we believe this to be at least 1960 in age but could very well be earlier. Difficult to tell with a piece that is this clean.
The compote stands 3 1/4" tall with a 5 1/4" measurement across the top. The base is weighted so it is difficult on these pieces to give an accurate silver weight. The weight of the piece weighted, as mentioned is 125 grams.
There is classic detail work at the edge of the compote. My wife put it on our table and said she would like a set - mismatched in different patterns for the table. Really looks nice.
The piece is without dings or dents. We only did a light polishing with a Sunshine Cloth and it is fairly clean. Just a little more polishing and it will be spectacular.
