A stunning solid carved Chinese Nobleman resin statue. This vintage carving has an old repair so please view pictures carefully. It was such a wonderful piece that we had to offer it even with the repair. Displayed on a table or shelf it will not be seen unless someone picks it up to examine. Will work well with any of your Asian decors. This piece is c1940. This part of our recent estate acquisition of Asian pieces. We are adding more daily.
The resin is tanned fairly evenly from age. The color is accurate in the first photo and all photos that are not a close up. Our flash went off on the closeups and it makes it look whiter than it is. It needs to be worked over a little better with a soft toothbrush to get in the crevices and clean - we did a quick clean up to get things moving. Other than the repair shown at the neckline we note other damage. There is handwriting on the bottom where this was gifted to the owner a few years ago. This piece is extremely heavy for it's size weighing 5.25 lbs unpacked. It is solid and will not tip over easily. (I always mention for those with dogs and children) The flower he is holding and the details on the robe and crown are really something. Hopefully it comes through on our photos. Dimensions with stand are 17 1/8" X 4 1/2" across the black base.
