Schreiner Large Cross Rhinestone Brooch Aqua Purple Bavarian Crystals RARE Book Piece Vintage
Here is an opportunity to own a rare Henry Schreiner Brooch, which is a book piece and in a rare and beautiful color combination we have yet find anywhere. This vintage Schreiner brooch came from an estate collection of exclusive vintage high end costume jewelry, containing many pieces that are only found in books or rarely seen for sale.
The oversized brooch has emerald cut Bavarian Crystals in Aqua and Purple meant to look like Aquamarine and Amethyst stones. Please see our VIDEO LINK HERE as it will show this piece much better than our photos.
This broch measures 3 3/8" and has a cross shape. It has several large emerald cut crystal stones and accents of faux turquoise. The gold-plated setting is ornate and bright with minimal wear seen only at the very edges when we view under magnification. There is an oval outline on the back of the brooch that shows discoloration where the Schreiner tag was located. You can match the design and construction to other examples on the internet. It is CONFIRMED Schreiner piece and the coloration is RARE. There are no missing or loose stones. No chips, or flakes. This brooch is 100% original with no damage or repairs seen. It has working fold over clasp.
Henry Schreiner immigrated to the United from Bavaria Germany in 1923. He used Bavarian and Czech crystals in his pieces and many pieces such as this one were plated in gold and silver. He produced jewelry until about 1973. This is a book piece which can found in Marcia "Sparkles" Brown "Signed Beauties of Costume Jewelry" 2002 Edition on page 54. I have not seen any examples with these colors as of yet and to say it is spectacular is an understatement. Our video shows this much better than the photos.
This is a piece worthy of a serious collector or lover of fine vintage designer costume jewelry.
