A wonderful collectible for the Oil Lamp enthusiast. This S. Sternau & Co. Oil Filler can has an ornate shape and is complete with both caps. It is nickel plated metal and has a ding on one side (the other side displays perfectly). There are no holes or rot anywhere on this oil filler. It comes with a cap on the spout with a chain attached and a cap at the top of the pot for filling. The bottom has the appropriate company mark.
This oil filler measures 9" long from handle to spout and stands 5 5/8" tall. We only did a light hand polishing. There is an area of patina on the front shows as a brownish color in the photos. We did not try to remove this it is surface smooth like a tarnish.
