Rare Fenton French Opalescent Lily of the Valley Candy Box w Lid Victorian Style Decor
A rare find for the Fenton Art Glass Collection. This Candy Box with Lid, now discontinued, was part of the Lily of the Valley French Opalescent Collection. It had a Fenton Catalog number of 9489FO ("FO for French Opalescent) and first appeared in the 1981 Catalog. It is referred to as a Candy Box with Lid by Fenton and like many of their white to clear opalescent pieces it has a beautiful very pale blue.
We have seen this form in other colors for sale but not this exact piece anywhere for several years. It is in EXCELLENT Condition with no chips, cracks or flakes to either the dish or lid.
The piece stands 7" tall to the top of the lid and 3 3/4" tall to the edge of the scalloped rim. It measures 5 1/2" across which is the number you will see in the Fenton Catalogs.
This piece will go well with Victorian or Art Nouveau styles but as glass lovers and collectors you can add this to almost any decor. We have it shown on our end table with other pieces, and it is stunning. It would also make a wonderful wedding or anniversary gift. If you are a Fenton Glass Collector, you know how difficult this piece in this color is to find.
