Beautiful piece of Mid Century Art Glass from Viking. This peacock blue decanter is the color of "bluenique" piece in the Viking line. It has a wonderful bulbous shape and teardrop embossed design. It will go well with almost any decor but we especially like with MCM, Danish Modern, Coastal, and Italianate. Bust as I mentioned anywhere you want a superb POP of blue this will be extraordinary.
We do not have a stopper for the decanter but we tried a few we had around here and they all worked so a replacement will not be difficult. The decanter stands 9 1/4" tall by 5 1/4" at its widest point and it measures 1 3/4" across the top opening. There is also the ever slightest spout on the the rim of the bottle. This decanter will hold 32 oz or 4 cups of your favorite spirits.
This bottle is in Very Good+ Condition. There are no chips, cracks or flakes. We see no heavy scratches. The glass is highly polished and other then the inside of the bottle where the stopper sits, we see no flaws. We can see rubbing where the stopper was inserted normal for a piece of this age that was used. Otherwise a lovely piece that we give a 8.5 out 10 for condition. The pontil marks can be see at the base. Of note the white spots you see are glare and the mottled background of our walls on the bottle.
