Large 1960s MCM Tibor Reich Trojan Horse Medieval Style Screenprint on Linen. This is a superb piece of Mid Century Modern textile art. The estate we acquired from, the wife was a local interior designer for over 60 years. This was rolled and saved with her personal collection of pieces she held onto.
I can see this framed piece of MCM decor for behind a sofa, server or bed. It has a raw cut top and bottom edge which shows some fraying from when it was cut but otherwise this piece is as pristine and clean as the day they purchased it.
May be she used for a client and intended on another project or she simply loved it and saw the potential for another piece. Whatever the case, we were thrilled to find it rolled and protected. You can see just how large this is on our 3rd photo where we placed a soda pop can on it for size. It is BIG and will make an impressive framed or MOUNTED piece. I can also see this mounted on something boxy like foam board and wrapping the rough edges around the back giving it a lifted look from the wall. My mind just keeps going with ideas.....
It measures 55 1/2" long and 24" tall.
