This large MCM era lacquered tray by Kyes of Pasadena CA has the most beautiful turquoise glaze. They called this a Moire' glaze and it has the appearance of water. The color in our photos is true and this large tray can be used with MANY decorative styles including MId Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, Asian/Oriental, Coastal and Beach decors. It can be used as a bar tray for serving drinks or a vanity tray on your dresser or boudoir. Very flexible for your decorative needs and simply gorgeous.
This large tray measures 21 1/4" from handle to handle or 19 1/4" across the longest part of the tray only. The width is 11 3/4" and it stands 3/4" tall. The yellow shadows you see in the photos is NOT a stain but a reflection from the shirt I was wearing on the high gloss finish. This tray is in Good Condition. We see no chips, cracks or flakes to the tray or lacquer. We see light wear to the gold finish on the handles and the edge trim but it is still visibly gold. There is a spot of white paint on the back. I was tempted to scrape it off but thought better of it and left it as I did not want to chance ruining the finish over a small spot. You can view this in the photos. A few very light scratches noted but overall a really nice piece for 70 years old. We give it an 8.5 out 10 for vintage condition.
