MCM Franciscan Starburst Salt and Pepper Shaker Set Great Mid Century Atomic Design
Authentic MCM Franciscan Starburst Salt and Pepper Shaker set. This vintage Franciscan pottery set was a limited time production from 1954-1966 and is now a highly sought after pattern by Mid Century collectors, designers and enthusiasts. You will receive both pieces as shown. They have a really cool orb shape with cut outs on both sides. They look like oversized eggs with side indentations. This is one of those rare patterns that doesn't come up for sale too often. It's malinite clay composition makes it the perfect stoneware dinnerware. This pattern was produced by Franciscan Potter from 1954-1966 and then was discontinued.
The pattern is colorful with aquamarine, olive green and yellow atomic starburst pattern outlined in black. The background pottery color is white with a very faint fleck of grey from the clay. These do not have the rubber stoppers on the bases. The bottom opening is 1/4" and you can get these fresh on Amazon or Ebay for $1.75-$3.00. Anything of this age would be most likely be crumbling.
This is a set of 2 pieces 1 Salt Shaker (with 2 holes at top) and 1 Pepper Shaker (with 1 hole at top)
Size - 3 5/8"
Condition - Good Condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. The patterns are bright and clean. Would give them a Very Good but there is glaze wear on the bottoms. The bodies are perfect otherwise.
These will make a great table setting with your other Starburst pieces.
