This is a superb example of Mid Century California Pottery Chinese Figurines. This Chinese man and woman is in full red and black dress with gold trim. They have a bit of a Kitchy feel. The Asian man has a queue hairstyle and the Asian woman has fan. The could possibly be getting ready to dance. Each figure stands 7 3/8" tall with the bases measuring 3 1/4" and 2 1/8" respectively.
The colors are bright and clean and these are in Good+ estate condition with only 1 minor flaw seen a flake on a finger of the man's hands. The flace is 3mm small and could easily be dabbed with some flesh tone paint. Again this is the size of a pin head and we mention for accuracy otherwise these 71 year old figures have stood the test of time remarkably well. The hand painting is expertly done and the base is marked Kleine and the date 1949.
