MCM 800 Silver Repousse Bowl hand crafted in Italy c1950s. This ornate bowl has feather and plume repousse as a border and a lovely scalloped edge. It will work well with many styles of decor. We did only a wipe down of the piece as to leave most of it's natural patina. It looks gorgeous with the patina accentuating the repousse and engraved design. If you would rather not have any patina it will polish up nicely.
The bowl measures 8 1/2" across and stands 1 7/8" tall. We see 3 very tiny pinched marks along the inside rim of the bowl - see photos. I can not tell if it was part of the hand craftsmanship or some how a crease occurred in the same spot from use. It is a weird spot to have 3 identical small creases. This does not affect the presentation of the bowl and unless you are looking the bowl over carefully, you will not notice. Otherwise the bowl is remarkable.
The base of the bowl is hallmarked for 800 silver and has Stancampiano Eugenio (the maker) of Palermo Italy's maker mark. It has a weight of 176.5 grams.
