This is a lovely set of antique Nippon Chocolate cups which can also be used for Espresso with the old green Nippon makers mark c1911-21. The hand painted design is incredible with heavy metallic gold trim and light moriage beading on both the cup and saucer. The flowers leaves are done in deep cobalt blue with other light green leaves and vines surrounding it. The florals look like some type of water lily and are done in pale shades of pink, peach and yellow. This set of 3 cups and saucers is in EXCELLENT estate condition with no chips cracks or flakes.
The hand painting is and gold trim is bright and clean. We see no crazing and only minimal discoloration the bottom ring of saucers where they are set down (normal wear for 100 yr old item).
Each cup stands 2" tall and measures 1 3/4" across the top. The saucers measures 4 1/8" across. Each cup will hold 2 oz. This is a lovely set for use and display when not in use. They would make a wonderful gift for the chocolate lover or espresso drinker.
