Antique 1880s Brass Student Lamp from a local estate that originated from Pennsylvania. This adjustable student lamp was in the same family for over 140 years. The body was in beautiful condition and we noticed it had been electrified at a much earlier time. The wiring was cut and taped off. All this needs a rewiring to work. The original shade has damage which is covered by the frame it sits on so we are including it with the lamp but you can also easily replace this with something else. Any white spots you see are cleaner in the crevices which we tried to wipe off it can use a little more work to get it all off.
Of note our photos look a little dark and flat. The lamp has a shiny brass finish (with patina) that will go with your gold decors. It looks a little bronzy in our photos but is a true brass color.
The brass body of the lamp is in Good+ condition for it's age with no dings or dents seen. The lamp is adjustable (up and down) by loosening a screw on the center post. The lamp stands 20.75" to the top of the decorative round finial. It spans 12" across from the cylinder kerosene older to the edge of the shade mount. The area that holds the shade measures 7.5" across and it will hold a shade with a 7-7.25" base.
The lamp switch clicks on and off as it should so I think the only thing this needs is a little TLC in the rewiring department. It displays beautifully and is a great piece of early lighting for display in your farmhouse, country or other rustic style home or office.
