A lovely ornate solid brass cast Art Nouveau style inkwell holder by Virginia Metalcrafters. This vintage inkwell holder has a bright gold finish and will make a beautiful display for your ink bottle and writing instruments. It is a beautiful desk accessory but will also work well for other decorative projects. My wife was going to add a tall glass holder in the inkwell spot to hold makeup brushes as a decorative piece on her vanity. A great idea that we never got around to. It would be lovely on a vanity, dresser or in a bathroom as it could hold items and work as a display.
The inkwell stand measures 7 1/2" long, 2 5/8" at it's tallest point at the back and 6" deep from front to back. The inkwell opening is square and measures 1 7/8" square but for fit purposes I would use a 1 3/4" square ink bottle or insert. The exact inside measurement using an inside gauge is 43mm square.
This inkwell stand is in EXCELLENT pre-owned condition. No dings or dents. The brass finish is bright and clean with minimal oxidation seen. c1970-80
