This is a stunning and pristine set of 8 Fostoria Green Optic Bowl Water Goblets with Clear Twisted Stem. Their line number is Fostoria Green Optic 5097-5297. Although these are listed as water goblets, they would make a nice larger pour for wine, as they hold 8 oz comfortably.
This line is discontinued and has been for quite some time. This elegant glassware was manufactured by Fostoria between 1927 and 1940. We have Champagne stems in this pattern in our shop now. We took a photo of these matching stems with these water goblets our display table (see photo 6) so you could see what a fabulous presentation they make together. We also show the specs of both pieces side by side in the last few photos. Again, this listing is for the eight Water Goblets only.
These glasses are listed as Water Goblets, and they stand 7 1/2" tall. They will comfortably hold 8 oz a (9 oz if you fill right to rim). I know several people that would use these for wine starting on Friday night. They will hold a nice pour.
The condition is Very Good++ with no chips, cracks, flakes or other imperfections. We see minimal surface wear. These are about as close to perfect for their age as you are going to find.
In one of our last photos, we show one of these and one of the champagne stems under black or UV light. They have a great bright glow from the Uranium content in the glass.
These will go beautifully with many of Fostoria's Green Dinnerware pattern's such as Fairfax. We have a few sets of this in our shop now.
