Antique Art Deco Bronze Carl Sorensen Bowl Signed No 1238, Large Bronze Bowl Applied Verdigris Arts and Crafts
You won't be able to take your eyes off this antique Art Deco Bronze Bowl by Carl Sorensen. This signed antique bowl has an incredible design featuring applied verdigris (the green mottled finish), crazy applied brass handles, brass rings inlaid into the bronze. It is a larger bowl and can be displayed alone or used to hold decorative items.
This designer signed bowl is stunning from every angle. We love it obviously for your Art Deco decors, but like many pieces, this can be crossed over into other decors. It would be fantastic in your Art Nouveau spaces and if you are doing a Mission or Arts and Crafts style using bronze and brass metals it will be a beautiful fit there as well.
The bowl measures 13 1/4" across the handles, 11 1/2" across the bowl (without handles) and stands about 2 1/4" tall. It is in Very Good+ condition for it's age. We see no dent, dings or other physical wear. The applied patina is perfect and when I first saw this piece displayed behind glass it took me a few seconds to realize what it was and that it was just about 100 years old. It has stood the test of time remarkably well and we give it a 9 out 10 for condition. We did not polish or over clean, just did a wipe down. If you want it brighter the brass will polish up nicely. I would use a soft cloth and not any type of metal cleaner as to not interfere with the incredible verdigris finish.
