19th Century Haviland French Limoges Marseille Style One Handle Serving Bowl Heavy Gold Trim Hand Painted
This is a gorgeous antique Haviland & Co. Limoges one handled serving bowl. It has the same body shape as the Marseilles pieces but is heavily trimmed in hand painted metallic gold. The background has mostly yellow florals and greenery which are muted tones but upon close inspection you can see faint pinks and blues (though the yellow is most prominent). This large serving bowl has the 1888-1896 Haviland Limoges mark in green (see our photos).
It is a stunning piece for use or display and will go well with any of your ornate Haviland dinnerware pieces.
This serving bowl measures 10" X 8 1/2" across and stands just about 4" tall. Very Deep for a serving bowl and will work well for everything from mashed potatoes to veggies and fruit.
This French Limoges pieces is in EXCELLENT condition for it's age. We give it a 9 out 10 for antique condition. We see no chips, cracks or flakes anywhere on this piece. The gold trim is very good with only minimal wear seen. There is no crazing or discoloration anywhere on the bowl which is remarkable for a piece that is is 120-130 year old.
