1970 Nude Ballerina Dancer MCM Sculpture Austin Products "Flowing Rhythm" Kathy Klein
A gorgeous 1970s retired Austin Products Sculpture or Statue entitled "Flowing Rhythm" by Kathy Klein. This tall MCM (Mid Century Modern) nude dancer ballerina has long lithe and graceful limbs. She is crafted of metal and has a thick creamy glaze on the body possibly a lacquered or some other heavy type of glossy glaze. The base is also glossy with black lacquer finish. She is Very Good + condition for her 50 years. She has her original felt on the bottom which shows fading from age but otherwise she is remarkable with no glaring flaws seen. View all nine of our photos for views from every angle. She will work well with your MCM, minimalist, contemporary and transitional decors.
This Austin Products statue stands 20 1/2" tall in total height. The ballerina alone measures 18 1/2" tall and 7" across her widest section of the body. The base stands 2" tall and measures 6 3/4" X 5 1/2". When we gently knock on the body we can hear the metal underneath which is not a big surprise since this piece was also produced in a bronze colored metal. She would be lovely on a pedestal, end table, entry way table, server or dresser - basically anywhere flat. She is nicely weighted and will not tip over easily. A lovely piece for the dancer or lover of modern art.
