1933 Multiple-Lens Aerial Cameras in Mapping, Fairchild Aerial Camera Company, Rare 1st Ed Book, Surveying Mapping Engineering Photography
This is a RARE Book find for the Aerial Multiple Lens Mapping Photographer. Published in 1933 this First Edition Book full title, Multiple - Lens Aerial Cameras In Mapping A Treatise on Multiple-Lens Aerial Cameras and their application in Mapping by The Technical Stall of the Fairchild Aerial Camera Corporation, New York. This hardbound book with original dust jacket is a First Edition and significant book on this topic. It is nearly impossible to find this book anywhere an even on the WorldCat (the world library system) only one copy is present at The British Libary in St. Pancras. Normally, even with the rarest books there are copies held at Universities and Museum Archives. Even the Smithsonian which holds the Fairchild Industries, Inc. Collection, 1919-1980 which has a remarkable number of books, papers and technical documents does not have this book.
The book is 8 vo (9 1/4" X 6 1/8" measurement) with 161 pages including the index. It is profusely illustrated with photographs, charts, maps, mathematical equations and more. I tried to pull a sampling of this in the photos. There are no missing, loose, or torn pages. There are no odors. The dust jacket shows chipping and edge wear with mild staining from age. The hardbound book is done in navy blue cloth boards with gild title and spine. There is a 1/2" tear on the lower spine covering. The book is still bound. See photos. There is overall tanning and foxing but all text and photos can be easily read. The foxing seems to be at concentrated at the first few pages at front and back. Inside of book overall tanned but clean. Front hinge cracked but all pages and binding secure. A good working and reading copy. Definitely a copy that is worth a rebound if you are a collector of rare books.
The book is loaded with information. I am going to list the contents below because I think it is the best way for you get an idea of how much info is covered.
