A fabulous Mid Century Modern artwork find for your home or office. This large oil painting on board is the perfect focal point for a large space; behind your sofa, desk, bed, landing or entryway. It is a Vanguard Studio piece from the late 1960s. It is signed by Stuart but Stuart is actually many artists.
Vanguard Studios c1960-1970s was started by Lee Reynolds. Many artists painted from a template and signed them under the studio name, or "by Stuart". Stuart was actually his brother's name. They did the art for TV shows like I Dream of Jeannie and The Brady Bunch. Over the past few years some of these larger pieces have brought a decent amount at auction.
The colors in our photo are true and taken without a flash. The sky is a teal blue/green and we tried to show you this on a different color background in case you have a darker wall. It shows well with virtually any solid color. There is a little paint missing at the very top where we assume the frame was rubbing. Otherwise nice condition for it's age.
This would be gorgeous in a Teak frame.
