This is a gorgeous set of 8 German Majolica Grape, Leaves and Vine Plates. They were crafted by Black Forest Art Pottery in the 1930s making them nearly antique at 90 years old. Their condition is Very Good+ for their age with no chips, cracks, flakes or other physical damage scene.
The colors are beautiful with variations of green, a deep majestic purple and bright pink. This provides a gorgeous palette that you cannot take your eyes off of. These would be beautiful as the top plate on a set table, as a cupboard display in your farmhouse or country home, on a plate rack, shelf, or wall display.
Each plate measures 7 5/8" and although they are technically salad plates they can be used for desserts or luncheon plates.
As mentioned above these are in above average condition for their age. We see no crazing. We note mild discoloration seen at the sides of the rims (we are being extremely detailed here). The coloration of the grapes and leaves is slightly different on each piece as you would expect from majolica pottery. They will make for an incredible display!
