A stunning piece of 1960s Vendome Costume Jewelry. This double-strand black glass beaded necklace is strung on silver chain, a sign of a wonderful quality piece of jewelry. It has the signature Flower Vendome hook clasp with wrapped silver boughs at the ends of the strands. This piece is unsigned but anyone that collects Vendome will recognize the hardware and craftsmanship. Superbly made, heavier than most pieces.
There is a smaller chain link up where the hang tag or signature tag would have been I have left it on in case someone wants to add a tag at a later date. It is does not interfere with design or wearing it is too small to see. Each of the faceted black glass beads measures 7.5mm.
The necklace measures 29" at its longest wearable length. At this length, there would be no trailing chain dangling down the back of the neck. As you shorten the necklace the longer the back trailing chain of beads will show. The shortest wearable length is 27" or so. My model has it on an in between length at around 28" to give you an idea of the hanging length. This would lovely for the office or an evening out. Extremely versatile piece.
The condition is Very Good. This came from the estate of a 97-year-old woman. Her pieces were kept in the best condition we have ever seen as far as care and storage. The beads are free of any damage. No chips, cracks, or flakes.
