This antique 1849 California Gold Rush Coin Token is a unique variation with 11 stars on the front and NO DATE on the front. The coin is dated on the back under the bear. There are more than 500 known versions of these gold coins may be more and the collectibility is in their unique nuances. This is the oldest of the series and quite unique. It has been made into a pendant. We will gladly provide the purchaser with a gold filled bale to hang on a chain (please provide us with the chain width at checkout).
If you are collecting this as a coin, the bale can be removed by your jeweler as it was a simple soldering. Our photos are enlarged to show you the most detail this token measures 13.5mm across (not including the pendant portion) or just about a 1/2". It weighs 1.3 grams. The coin is in Very Good estate condition. We photographed from every angle for you to get the best views. The coin tests positive for solid 10k gold. It is bright and fairly clean with little patina. We did not clean only wiped down.
