A great looking vintage collectible Freemasons Masonic Sojourner National Medal and Ribbon in Very Good condition. The Sojourners was started as a Patriotic organization within the Freemasons for those who have served in the US Military. It was started in the late 1890s. We estimate this medal to be right around WWII or a little before. This would make a wonderful gift for the Mason or the Masonic Collector.
The ribbon and medal have an overall length of 3 3/8" long. The oval medal alone measures 1 3/4" L X 1" W. The back clasp hardware shows some patina from age. It has a "c" catch closure with no fold over. It appears the medal is gilt over brass we can see the brass and patina of the brass peeking through upon inspection with our loupe.
