Art Deco John Vassos for Wirecraft Brass Woven Accent Lamp Superb Gold Decor
This eye-catching Art Deco Era lamp was designed by Wirecraft by John Vassos. It has an incredible woven brass metal shade and woven detail on the lamp post. It can be used as a table, desk or accent lamp.
This lamp was produced in the 1930s and can be used with many decorative styles including Art Deco, Industrial, Glam and Hollywood Regency Decors. It will make a standout impression anywhere you want to add a gorgeous touch of gold.
The lamp is nicely weighted at the base and will not tip over easily. We show the dimensions in one of our photos and on our end table for size. It stands 20 1/4" tall with the finial and is 8" wide across the bottom of the shade and 5 3/8" wide at the base.
The prior owner had it rewired with a 1930s STYLE NEW CORD, and it is working perfectly. But we always suggest with any vintage and antique lighting that you have the cord checked by a lighting professional. The lamp turns on with a pull cord and it takes a standard size light bulb (you can use an LED bulb of the same size too!).
The only thing we note is some chipping of the finish of the base and the collar right below where the bulb screws in. There are no dings, dents or physical damage. The shade is perfect. I am amazed at how well this has stood the test of time for a lamp that is nearly an antique (90 years old or so).
