Beautiful antique mercury glass partridge or other plumed bird Christmas ornament. This c1910 ornament has wonderful delicate features that have stood the test of time incredibly well. The partridge has an overall color of metallic gold which unfortunately is not showing up too well in our photos. The finish is now worn or distressed but the glass is all good. You know this is authentic and the wear is expected for an ornament that is well over 100 years old. There are no cracks to glass only wear to the finish. I believe the tinsel was replaced at some point in time but no time recently, as it appears vintage.
This bird ornament measures 8" in length including the tinsel and 4" in length only the glass body. It has a 2" depth. The hanger is a swirl of blown glass that comes up about half way on the back of the body. There is also a delicate blown glass plume on the partridges head.
This is a beautiful antique figural mercury glass ornament for the collector. A great piece for your Farmhouse or Country Christmas tree.
