A little time and some polish and this antique fish cutlery set is going to be outstanding. It is a service for 12 with 24 pieces and comes with it's original carrying case. The case holds the pieces nicely but shows some signs of wear from being over 100 years old.
This set was crafted of 800 silver sometime around 1900 by V. Mayer's Sohne a common name in Victorian era silver.
You will receive 12 fish forks and 12 fish knives. The forks measure 7 1/4" in length and the knives measure 8" in length. The handles are made of 800 silver hollow construction but are nicely weighted. They are not flimsy or light. The total weight of the pieces is 1136 grams. The set is monogrammed EP on each handle for the prior owner. There is decorative scroll work on the knife blades and on the upper tines of the forks.
This is a gorgeous set that will appraise for so much more. It will spectacular on your formal table but would also make a great wedding or anniversary gift.
