A jewelry treasure from the Art Nouveau period. This antique brooch is ornate and has a beautiful amethyst glass stone at the center and millegrain work throughout.
This piece is signed SW on the catch for Sturdevant and Whiting (Attleboro, Mass manufacturer from 1899-1914).
The bar pin measures 2 1/4" in length and has a height of 1/2" at the center. It is constructed of rolled gold with the exception of the pin which is gold plate. It has the earlier "C" catch closure. It has the perfect amount of patina and is in exceptional condition for a piece of this age.
