Check out the form on this vintage pre WWII German copper Tea Kettle teapot. It has very clean lines and when I picked it up I was certain it was Mid Century Modern. Very surprised to get it back to the office and found out it is earlier than that. With the help of Vin at oldcopper.org we are in agreement that this mark which is the only one either of us have seen for Christian Wagner or Reinhard Wagner is older than we thought. This is still a great form for you MCM, Danish Modern, Minimalist, and Natural decors (Boho and Coastal too). The rattan covered handles add a little something extra to this 4 cup kettle.
It has a nice natural patina with a very glossy feel to the metal. This one will polish up very brightly if you choose to do so. We are loving the natural patina so we will leave the polishing up to the new owner.
The copper kettle stands 5 1/2" to the top of the triangular lid handle. It measures 8 1/2" from handle to spout and 5 1/4" across the base. It is a 4 cup pot and it is tin lined. Very nice condition for it's age with no dings or dents seen. Rattan has held up nicely.
