Vintage Turquoise Moon and Stars Canister Set LE Smith Glass c1950
A vintage set of LE Smith Glass Company Turquoise Blue Moon and Stars canisters. This four canister set with lids is all original with the exception of one replacement lid. This pattern was produced between 1940 and 1960 though the estate we acquired this from remembers getting it new in the late 1950s. This is a stunning color in heavy pieces of pressed vintage glass.
The condition is Good with some wear noted below. The four canisters measure 11 1/4, 9 1/2", 7 5/8", 5 1/4 (height with lids). Each canister base is free of any chips, cracks or flakes. Those of you looking or collecting know that this is rare for this set. The bases are hard to come by in this condition. Three of the lids are original to the set and have ground rims that fit inside the canister bases. Out of the 3 original lids, 2 of them have chips on the lip that fits inside the canisters and one is free of any damage. The third lid is a lid that was added, a fairly good match that we would not have noticed out unless it was pointed out to us.
You can group these side by side in height order or in a grouping, we have them shown both ways and they look incredible. Moon and Stars aren't for the kitchen only. They would look great in a grouping on your coffee table filled with treats or on your server, maybe on a shelving unit with multiple cubbies. Anywhere you want some fantastic color and beautiful vintage glass.
The glass with the exception of the one lid is all the same color any variations are from the sunlight. For decorators the closest charting color is Pantone / PMS 2391 C / #0081a6 Hex Color Code - this will give you the best true match to the canisters.
