Great looking vintage African Queen (Nubian Queen) Wall Pocket by Horton Ceramics of Eastland Texas. This rare figural pottery form was made sometime around 1950. It has beautiful glaze and an amazing profile when hung. Horton Ceramics was in business from 1946 to 1967.
Our queen stands 10 1/2" tall with a 4 1/2" width and a 4" depth from the wall. The opening of the vase measures 3 7/8" X 1". She displays perfectly and is in Good Condition. We note 1 small flake near the hole where she is hung. It measures 2mm. The white spots seen on her face is glare from the sun. Upon close inspection we see tiny pin-point size white spots in the ribbing which is here hair. These are not chips or flakes, simply glaze misses over tiny pottery bubble. You will not see them when hung and we mention for complete accuracy.
