Victorian German Silver Sewing Scissors Sterling Antique

5 1/4 / Silver / Sterling Silver

A lovely pair of Victorian era sewing scissors in sterling silver from Germany.  These scissors are perfect for any type of hand crafting and measure 5 1/4" long with a 2 1/2" cutting surface in steel.

The handles are done in a beautiful flower and scroll repousse in sterling silver. We could not find a silver mark, most likely worn off from age but they have been safely tested and are a strong positive for sterling silver content. The blade is marked with the word Germany and a star. These 19th century scissors are in very good condition; structurally sound, sharp blades and the sterling silver handle is gorgeous. The steel blades have a dark patina from age (not rust or rot) just darkened discoloration. The sterling silver handle is bright with only a light hand polishing. There is still some patina left on the sterling as we never over polish antique silver. They have a nice weight to them with a total weight of 35.7 grams.

This is a wonderful pair of scissors for the sewing collector, seamstress, embroiderer or those that love to display fine Victorian items. We have other sewing collectibles in our shop now...take a look -
