Singer Model 12k Sewing Machine Antique 1885

17 1/4" / Black / Iron

This antique Singer Model 12k was previously called the "New Family Model" .  It remained in production for almost 40 years in the UK and USA.

It has the older dual serial number of 6728535-1618735 which dates it to around 1885. The base lifts to reveal a storage space for accessories and manuals. The manual we have included is not for this machine but we are including it because it is how we acquired it. This model has the lovely fiddle base and is highly decorated with gold scrolls and floral designs. There is some wear to the design in places, but overall for its age, it is in wonderful condition and the design is bright and clean.

The wood base measures 17 1/4" X 9 1/4" and with cover on stands 11" tall not including the handle. The hand crank moves the shuttle smoothly. The under bed is clean and it does appear to have been oiled at some point in time. We have no records of service on this machine. The only thing we note is that one of the spool holders at the top of the machine is missing. One is present and there is a hole for the second one.

The machine has an unpackaged weight of about 26 lbs. We will be double boxing and safely packaging it for its arrival to its new home.  Our shipping calculator automatically calculates for Priority Mail BUT we are happy to quote you for Fed Ex.  Please drop us line with your postal code if you are interested in a Fed Ex shipping quote.
