A great piece for your farmhouse or French Country home. This vintage hand painted Quimper Rooster Teapot in the Le Coq Breton decoration is a great example of Faience pottery. This vintage piece is in Very Good condition with only a minor glaze loss at the rim. I believe the inside stain will come out or lighten. I could not fit my hand inside and misplaced by brush - see photos. Otherwise no chips, cracks or flakes.
We also have the creamer and sugar and matching dishes for a lovely cabinet display - check our shop links below.
The colors are gorgeous and the main glaze is the faintest powder blue - it may look white in photos but is blue. The decorated colors are a rosy red, green blue and yellow. The teapot stands 6" to the top of lid and spans 8 1/4" from handle to spot. I would call it a two cup tea pot.
The teapot has the vintage Quimper makers mark stamp as shown in the photo. Each teapot has the following F - form number and D - Decoration number and the Artists initials or the Artist and Supervisors initials.
The following info is hand marked on bottom - F.320 - D.485 - RE
