Estate Will-George Pink Flamingo Porcelain Figurine Pasadena CA c1930s
If you are a Flamingo Collector this is a must have signed 1930s porcelain figurine by Will-George. This hand painted flamingo has gorgeous coloration and delicacy. It is by far the best vintage flamingo figurine we have seen. Will-George was located in Pasadena California and was only in business a short time from 1934-1956. They made many different flamingos no two being exactly alike since they were hand painted. That is making these pieces more difficult to find especially in this condition. The company was started by brothers Will and George Climes - thus the name Will-George.
This lovely flamingo stands 7 3/4" tall, measures 4 1/2" across it's widest point and has a 2 3/4" depth. It is in Very Good++ estate condition with no chips, cracks, flakes or repairs. This is a SUPER piece for the flamingo collector and for your tropical decors. We also like with your Art Deco Coastal decors.
Some interesting history about the company we found... Will-George was contracted to make 200 of these Flamingo figurines by gangster Bugsy Seigel for the grand opening of the Flamingo Hotel and Casino in 1945. Those pieces are marked differently on the bottom but in the same style.
