We were so excited to acquire this Estate Art Nouveau style Nude Nymph Statue or Sculpture. She is large standing 16.75" tall and crafted from solid cast brass. She is in Excellent estate condition and displays beautifully. This is one of 2 cast metal statues we believe from the same artist from the same estate. She stands 16 3/4" tall including the base. She has a width of 8" X 8" across the base. She is in EXCELLENT one owner estate condition. She has a highly polished finished that has been sealed to prevent tarnishing. I am not exactly sure what was used but she is spectacular. We have placed her next to a soda pop can in one of our photos so you can see the size. These date at least 40 years old and they may be earlier.
The base of this statue has a flat black lacquer finish. It is felted on the bottom. I am unable to tell if the base is lacquer over wood or lacquer over resin. The other statue that we acquired with this one, we believe by the same maker, has what we believe to be a marble base. The felt was removed off that statue so it was easier to see. I am not quite certain what this base is made from and I do not want to remove the original felt. She is solid and heavy weighing nearly 10 lbs unboxed.
I was unable to find any signatures noting it is very difficult to find on this pieces with the incredibly detailed metal. There were a few places that I thought I saw a stamp or mark but I am calling it unsigned since I can not make anything out for certain.
These would be beautiful on a mantel, shelf, server, dresser, vanity, knoll post..... and I guarantee they will bring a ton of compliments.
