An exceptional find for the Black Lab Labrador lover. This vintage watercolor painting is tastefully done and has been matted and framed. It is c1960-70 and in gorgeous estate condition - see all photos.
It is large in size with a framed measurement of 24" tall by 21.5" wide and a 1.5" depth.
The painting is done on watercolor paper and signed in pencil J.C. King. The portion of the painting that shows not including the white matte is 15 1/2" X 14". Someone prior to us started to open the backing paper. I am not sure if they actually removed it because bottom is still sealed. We did not try to remove. The frame is all wood with back and gilt trim. The frame is very nice and sturdy and looks great with the painting. Only wear we see is some very light white paint spatter on the top edge of the frame. I can flake it off with my nail so you will most likely be able to safely remove. This does not show when the painting is hung.
The glass is perfect and free any chips, flakes or other damage. The matte is clean and bright. This handsome painting is ready for hanging.
While is most likely not a listed artist the dog captures such emotion in his/her eyes. A wonderful gift for the labrador owner, lover or breeder.
