Beautiful antique dresser mirror from the Art Nouveau Era. This ornate mirror has beveled glass and gold finish over ornate ironwork.
The ironwork is in excellent condition. The outer frame of the mirror has Fleur De Lis with a crown and shield at the top center and bottom two feet have Griffins. The mirror stands 10 1/2" tall by 10 1/2" wide across the frame. The easel back is in a fixed position. The back leg will not swing so the mirror will not topple over.
The mirror glass is original and has a lovely beveled edge. The oval glass measures 7 3/4" wide by 5 1/2" tall. There are two very tiny flakes approximately 1-2mm in size (see last photo). It is nothing I would replace the glass over. There are tabs on the back of the frame where the glass could be removed and a photograph could be inserted.
The back frame of the mirror is signed N.B. & I.W. for National Bronze and Iron Works (established in Reading, PA c1891). This mirror dates from 1900-1910 and has a gorgeous Art Nouveau style.
