Antique Sterling Silver Pocket Knife Edwardian Era Push Button
This Edwardian era silver pocket knife is the perfect size for an easy carry. It measures 2 3/4" when open (4 1/4" when open). It has a nice weight to it at 11.1 grams and will fit in a vest, jacket or pant pocket easily.
It has one of the most unique release mechanisms for a pocket knife that we have ever seen. It has a barrel shape body (3/8" wide), and at one end there is a push button. When you hold down the push button, gently shake the body forward and release the button the knife releases at the opposite end. To close the knife you push the button in and hold the blade upright and it will drop back into the case.
The sterling silver body has a highly polished twist alternating engraved design. It is marked "Sterling" on one end and "Patented" on the other. It is from the Edwardian Era c1901-1910. The blade measures 1" in length X 3/16" at its widest point. The blade is steel. There are no maker's marks on the blade or body. The blade is still sharp and clean for its age with no pitting.
This would make a great gift for your Dad, Husband or even as a groomsman gift for the Best Man. Or treat yourself to a really nice collectible knife.
