This French Limoges hand painted hunting game bird plate by LRL (Lazeyras, Rosenfeld, Lehman) is an exceptional piece for the Limoges collector. The breathtaking hand-painted birds are surrounded by a wash of vivid colors in blue, yellow, green and a reddish orange which is seen throughout. The elaborate scalloped edge is trimmed in gold. It is artist signed "Roty". This decorative piece of limoges is in Very Good Condition with no chips, cracks or flakes seen. We give it a 9 out 10 for condition purposes (we rarely call anything antique perfect).
This plate measures 10 1/4" across and stands 1 3/8" tall when placed on the table. There are pre-drilled holes on the back of the plate for a wire or cording to be strung through for easy hanging but this would be just as lovely on a plate rack displayed. This is one I almost hate to give up. We see many hand painted floral limoges plates but animals, game birds, and fish seem to be harder to come by.
