A beautiful design on this handsome 14k gold fancy link pocket watch chain. This watch chain is c1920s from the Art Deco Era. It measures 13" from end to end is entirely crafted of gold including the clasps.
The chain is marked 14k in several places and has been safely tested to be so. There is also a manufacturers mark of "Automatic" with the 14k mark on one of the hardware pieces. The Automatic Gold Chain Company made several style pocket watch chains from 1922 through the 1930s. They were located in Providence, RI.
It has a fancy link design with filigree links alternating with etched solid links. We note a few of the filigree links have a minor ripple (see photos). This is as we would expect for a chain of 96 years of age. Otherwise remarkable condition, sturdy with beautiful bright 14k gold. It has a weight of 6.8 grams.
This style chain is considered is Waldermar vest chain. It has a swivel catch on one end to hold the watch and a spring catch on the other to hold an accessory. These chains were worn across the vest from the left pocket to the right.
This a great gift of fine gold for the pocket watch collector. It will come in a presentation box for you or to gift. Visit our shop for a great variety of Men's Gifts and Fine Jewelry here.
